聽過代用國中嗎？　台南就有一間喔！

台南市七股區昭明中學在民國55年時，因應九年國民義務教育將於民國57年實施，當年教育部為解決七股地區沒有公立國中的窘境，因此與當時的私立昭明初中合作，將其指定為代用國中，如今時代變遷，全台代用國中僅剩4間，存廢問題常被拿出來討論。
 
台南市教育局副局長黃緒信表示，代用國中目前全台仍有4所，分別在雲林和台南、屏東；由於時空環境背景都已不相同，是否需要代用國中，教育部已委託台師大的教授就代用國中定位進行調查，撰寫專案報告，希望能釐清代用國中與地方政府的權利與義務關係。
 
昭明國中成為代用國中後幾年，狹長地形的七股地區又分別在南北兩端增設國中，而台南市政府教育局去年底曾向教育部提案希望終止代用國中，引起地方人士和家長反彈，地方民代說：「終止代用後，學校可能就得停辦，這等於是裁大校、把學生併入小校。」昭明中學老師也說：「大家都對學校有感情了，當然希望能保留。」。（李恩慈／台南報導）
